The World is Full of Nice People

                              Thank You

Granted, I tend to see the best in people, until they have proven themselves otherwise.

Yesterday, as I was leaving a local restaurant, I realized my tire was flat. I called AAA, only to be told they have a four hour wait, which they couldn’t guarantee because of the extreme cold weather here. They provided a list of tow service companies and said they would reimburse me.

As I was calling the local numbers, a few gentlemen stopped and asked if I needed help. It would have been easier for them to drive on by. It was 9 degrees and no time to be out in the cold. I thankfully accepted their invitation! They laid on the cold concrete to retrieve the tire from beneath my truck, went to work changing my tire and had me on my way in less than 20 minutes.

They may never read this, I just wanted to say thanks!

Paula, What a wonderful way to say thanks to those anonymous helpers! It's because of selfless folks like that that we will always tend to "see the best in people, until they have proven themselves otherwise." I hope, one day, you'll be able to return the favor (though maybe not laying on the frozen ground to retrieve a tire from underneath a truck).

It always amazes me when I see nasty, ignorant folk. It really makes little sense to be rude and obnoxious to your neighbors. Life is so much more pleasant when we are nice to each other. Sharon Hollas - Surrey BC Real Estate

Paula, What a wonderful story, does my heart good. We need to do more of these positive blogs.

Vance - They were truly kind and generous. Best of all, they knew exactly what they were doing. I always do my best to pay it forward, it will have to by other means, though - I would be useless on the underside of an SUV. Sharon - It was truly pleasant to be on the receiving side of such generosity. Suzanne - It was a wonderful feeling to be aided by these men - it did my heart good, too!
