Staging Matters When Selling Your Home

Surrounding myself with other professionals in the industry provides my clients with the benefit of experience in all aspects of their real estate transaction. One of the professionals I have on my list is Linda Barnett at Home Matters.

Linda is a home staging professional in Indianapolis, whose work has been praised by homeowners, clients and featured on Fox 59 News. Linda is a master of decorating and arranging space. A professional consultation with Linda is included with every listing I market.

I firmly believe a well presented home is crucial when your home is on the market. Every home has one chance to make the best first impression; shouldn’t yours say “WOW”?

Rather than try to extol the virtues of staging with the written word, I have provided a glimpse of Linda’s handiwork. The pictures are of both vacant and occupied homes.

When it’s time to sell your Indianapolis home, call me; together we will get your home show ready, or shall I say, SOLD ready. If you want to just add a decorative touch to your home, call Linda at Home Matters.

What a great job she does for you Paula! I think the two of you together are one great team.

Joanne – She is good! Her style is to make it appealing and warm, which is always a winner for selling!

Paula – I don’t even like the fireplace in the top one that is vacant but in the staged one I can see how it can look. Much nicer! – Ashley

Paula, the difference staging makes is evident in the pictures. You provided plenty! The consultation with Linda is a VERY nice perk your sellers get!

Great Post! Staging really does make a difference in showings. Do you have any recommendations for someone who does see the value up front?

Paula Henry October 15, 2007 at 1:18 pm

Maggie – The consultation is very informative. Many times the issues and suggestions Linda makes are items which can be completed by the homeowner.

Susie – Of course I have a recommendation – Call me first and let me pay for the consultation with Linda!:) Seriously though, I think many people know what they need to do in general; packing what they are not using, cleaning out closets, and making thier home sparkle. What Linda does is dress up the interior and utilizes the space efficiently. Mostly we use the clients existing furniture and add the decorating touches.

My number one recommendation is DO NOT put the home on the market until it is ready!

Ashley – I tend to agree with you about the fireplace – I prefer one with a brick hearth, however, Linda did a great job making this room look great!

Paula,

Your example photos really drive home the importance of staging a home. Having the home 100% ready before putting up the sign and putting it in the MLS is important when the market slows down.

This woman has talent – what a difference – I would love to have someone like this in my pocket for my sellers.
